Mahdi obtained an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University and
graduated from Queen’s Faculty of Law with a JD/MBA. He undertook multiple projects
analyzing and advising business on issues of all kinds. He’s worked in many diverse
teams and learned to work with all kinds of individuals. Mahdi has experience in multiple
practice areas and was called to the Bar in 2024, ready to grow as a new lawyer.

Mahdi summered at a tax litigation firm in Toronto working closely with counsel and
helping people through the tax dispute resolution process. He helped people in difficult
situations and helped advocate for reduced tax penalties. He also researched tax issues
and assisted in crafting legal arguments against the CRA.

Mahdi then completed his articles at a large full service firm in Hamilton, working with
both the corporate and litigation teams. He researched legal issues of all kinds in all
fields of law except criminal law. Mahdi managed his own Small Claims Court files.
Mahdi also had the opportunity to work directly with counsel in a medical malpractice
trial exceeding 10 weeks, providing support daily with note taking, research, and
drafting submissions. He witnessed experienced lawyers fiercely advocate on complex
issues, learning what a real trial is like.

Mahdi is a musician and plays the flute, performing in several concerts in a band every
year. He also enjoys long, difficult hikes and exploring new trails in the GTA.
